The Difference Between Grooved Tee And Mechanical Tee

The mechanical tee is opened on the straight pipe and can be clamped with the mechanical tee. The main pipe is the whole section, the branch pipe is a single pipe, and the engineering quantity is one tee (mechanical thread tee), or 1 tee plus 1 Steel clip (mechanical clamp tee); ordinary grooved tee, three pipe sections are connected by grooved tee; the engineering quantity is 1 tee and 3 steel clips.

In fire protection engineering, the mechanical tee for the main pipeline is directly connected to the branch pipe by mechanical openings through special fixing parts; for example, the reducing tee is DN150100: the main pipe is DN150, the branch pipe is DN100, and the finished product rarely has three ports with different pipe diameters. The grooved tee refers to only a connection method of pipe fittings, most of which are divided into: welding, flange, clamp (groove type)

The mechanical tee has the same function as the ordinary tee. It can be used to directly connect branch pipes on steel pipes, and has many applications in the installation of fire-fighting pipes and sprinkler pipes. Mechanical tee can be used when diversion or confluence is required.

Installation method: First, use a hole-opening machine to open a hole on the steel pipe, and then insert the mechanical tee into the hole, and the hole is sealed along the pipe wall by a sealing ring. Mechanical tee is divided into two types: wire connection and groove type. When the mechanical tee is connected, the clearance between the mechanical tee and the hole should be checked, all parts should be uniform, and then tightened in place; the distance between the mechanical tee openings should not be less than 1m.
